I am a self-confessed grenache fanatic. I used to love shiraz and cabernet and pinot and all the rest of the standard reds. But now I drink grenache, almost exclusively. This particular version is not my favourite, but it makes for a perfect everyday grenache. It is light to medium bodied, and this is its charm. It doesn't get in the way of any food combination you care to have it with. It works with vegetarian dishes, it works with seafood - it can even be slightly chilled in the summer months. It is an every day wine. It will not knock your socks off. It is a little explored corner of grenache for those who enjoy this wonderfully expressive variety.

I must admit I've avoided the cheaper end Hentley's - but as it turns out I've been missing out! This is a great wine. I just went out and grabbed another one while the 2016's are still on the shelves. It's certainly up the lighter end but definitely not watery - there's plenty going on there. If you appreciate a good Pinot then you'll love this Grenache.

An excellent cost-conscious buy from an excellent winemaker. It’s a surprisingly light and juicy wine that is unpunchy and polite and utterly enjoyable to drink.

This is not a big Hently Farm red. Instead it is a pinot-like grenache. Not nearly as impressive as its big brother The Old Legend Grenache, but for a modest price it is a very good light-bodied, delightfully perfumed grenache. I think this may disappoint those looking for a heavy red - as indicated by other comments that it is not like the Hently Farm shiraz. This is a terrific alternative, but perhaps only for someone who appreciates what grenache can be: a light sweet entry with a savoury finish and light tannins. And this is something that won't be found in any shiraz.

tried this after having the excellent Marl shiraz and assumed with the high rating it would be better, but this is not in the same league. I have no idea how the Dan Murphy panel rated it so highly , buy the shiraz instead!

i have tried other Hentleys and loved them however its hard to believe this is marketable basically red sweet water
