Great drop, better than many bottled supposedly 'fancier' Merlots.

A very easy drinking red that doesn't lack in flavour and body. Excellent value for money wouldn't buy any other cask of red.

I rate Warburn Estate Cabernet Merlot as my 'GO TO' for mulled wine. It's fruitiness is perfect!

Having tried this for the first time as a last resort (Dan's is having supply problems on others of my favourite cask wines), I kind of like it! Others have said: "It's a bit thin"; yes. Others say: "It's a bit too fruity"; I kind of like that. All in all, it's pretty well done, though I'm used to a bit more depth and dryness, which do seem to develop, though, as it breathes. Remember, this is cask stuff, so unlike bottled wine, each glass has to breathe! :-) Perfectly drinkable for everyday with meals. I'm French, so I start at lunch, and the price is right! :-) Nice, light, reasonably dry red. Haven't tried it with fish yet (I like the Loire Valley reds with fish, or a Pinot Noir that's well made here in Aus), but I imagine it wouldn't clash very much, particularly if you like spicy fish... (The only reason I wouldn't recommend to a friend is that I don't know anyone who drinks as much as I do, so I only recommend really good stuff in bottles! :-) )

I have enjoyed this wine on many occasions but the one I bought this week is the worst cab merlot I’ve ever tasted. It’s sweet and thin tasting. I’m guessing the grape vintage has changed or they’re rebranding something else instead. If it was $8 I’d say you get what you pay for and fair enough, but this used to be a reliable product. What a shame. Yuk Yuk!!!!
