Have had many Dao reds with enjoyment. Did not expect anything fancy with this example and was not disappointed.

Brilliant value for money, @8.55 per bottle, this represents fantastic value, rich, dark earthyness on the nose, with hints of mint, thyme and slight black pepper, this is well crafted with a great finish, considering the price, one simply cannot fault this wine. Enjoy

I would never have picked Meia Encosta as an under $20 / bottle wine. I selected it amongst other wines based on the region. Not sure I should punt the wine before I have bought up a bit of cellar stock. Well done to DM buyers.

It's Ok. But not special. Medium bodied, earthy but lacking special tannins. Fruit not very evident. Good barbecue wine. No faults.

Excellent tasting wine for everyday(evening) consumption, agree with experts view

I cannot understand the glowing review on this site. On opening the bottle the nose was somewhat promising but unfortunately this didn't translate to the palate. Even allowing an extended breathing time the wine was harsh with very little fruit flavour. Could not drink this wine which was a shame as some Portuguese wines have been very drinkable indeed.
