A magnificent malt especially for the price. Drank with a half teaspoon of water lovely complex aromas smooth finish and lovely after taste. Dash of pest but immense fruity flavours.

Lacks any complexity. Boring nose and just a plain drink

Which can be taken as a compliment of sorts. You see, with advancing age, I've found the super-peaty stuff, especially from the Islands, way too heavy. This peatless entry (Yes, it's advertised as such.) hits the spot. It is defined as the only Highlands/Lowlands (Speyside) hybrid while still being a single malt. It doesn't beat Glenfiddich, though, which comes in at around two-thirds the price.

There is a lot to enjoy with this whisky. The aroma is bold and malt forward with a touch of sherry sweetness; the palate is less sweet and more malt and dried fruit driven in a way that brings layers and balance to it as a whole.

Glengoyne a good example of a bourbon cask, not much nose ! But a lovely pallet baked toffee apple , hint of vanilla and a lovely honeyed cereal note s well priced and a good way to start your journey in to highland malts .
