I suppose I can understand why some people prefer 101 as it has a more typical bourbon flavour. The Rare Breed however has a touch of the aromatic about it, even a perfume like taste. Still it really delivers a treat to the palate once you get used to it.

This is a huge! Drinking it neat was slightly overwhelming for my palette. I watered it down incrementally until I got to the sweet spot. It's no joke. I've had cask strength before but this is a beast. This is juiced to the gills at nearly 60% ABV. I get a tonne of vanilla and caramel and a very long finish.

When it comes to American whiskey's I prefer bourbons & at over 50% this has to be the smoothest I've tried, esp served neat.

It's not cheap BUT no other Bourbon tastes like it. Complex, deep, sweet, fruit cake like on ice or with coke. The same 58.4 % alcohol as Wild Turkey 101 BUT without the throat kick. Rare Breed is so SMOOTH.... It comes in this easily hidden bottle but also in a premixed can with coke. Your choice. I'm pretty restrained but my Rare Breed always seems to disappear just a bit faster than I'd like. Bravo Wild Turkey and Dan's with my member discount !
