It’s a cheap Bordeaux but like other similar price Bordeaux it’s fairly ordinary. Little pleasure. I’m afraid you will have to buy mouton cadet select at $35+ to get a reasonable wine.

I remember years ago buying this wine at $39.00 thinking "ah ha" this is by Mouton so it must be good. Sadly they were at it again and I was greeted by a lifeless, bland sour wine with no redeeming qualities. So, when I saw this same wine again at half the price I was willing to try again. Guess what, the same lifeless, bland Merlot blend without a hint of finesse or character. Jeez, when one thinks of what one can get in an Aussie wine for around the same price it makes this look sooooo poor. Mind you there is nothing wrong with this except an overwhelming dose of dross. Avoid at all costs.

First drank this wine was n England in 2000. Learned it was the most popular Red in the UK. Having been developed some 30 years ago. Another good thing is it is considerably cheaper than Chateau de Rothschild ($1600) a bottle. Drink now wine with good flavour and fruit. Enjoy.
