While its not a bad rye for the price its fairly disappointing there are quite a few cheaper rye whiskeys available with a far better taste. The flavour profile I would describe as musty and murky with a harsh ethanol after taste, if you're looking for rye I would be much more likely to recommend Ezra Brooks or even Jim beam rye over this as both are cheaper and taste much better.

Firstly this is NOT Scotch Whiskey, It is an Australian malted rye and very cleverly created to draw on the characteristics of (Barley) Malt whisky and Rye whisky. I think it is an example of whiskey creating genius and it will not disappoint (unless you missed that the label clearly says 'Rye Malt Whiskey'). Of course its not cheap, a high quality whiskey cannot be made from cheap ingredients or zero effort. It does, however, represent fantastic value. Wonderful flavour and so much depth for what is, in reality, a young whiskey. Dave Withers - your skills are awesome!

As a single malt drinker I loved the taste it was smooth and left a sweet after taste. It is as good as any of the single malts I have tasted and it is Aussie!

I've only tried half a dozen rye's but this one is the best I've had, closely followed by The Gospel Solera Rye. Funnily enough they are both made in Australia! It has a rich, deep smell and colour and the taste is malty with some sweetness and mixed fruit reminiscent of xmas cake. The familiar spiciness of rye is there but not as pronounced as other rye's. I will definitely be buying more of this one.

Got this for my dad for Father’s Day. I’m not an expert but to me this is a scotch style whiskey. I don’t like scotch usually but this is a really smooth, good tasting drink. Costs more than I’d normally spend on myself but made a great gift. Definitely happy with my purchase.
