Not a lot of Sancerre makes its way out to these parts, possibly due to the competition and the presence of other excellent wines in Oz. This is a wonderfully flavourful drop to accompany your most indulgent seafood or even on its own.

2017 vintage, bought and tasted Feb/March 2023 Nice, interesting mealy/pease pudding flavours but lacks acidity and just starting to to show stale, developed characters. I could really appreciate the variation from the usual Malborough herbaceousness or Australian tropical fruit styles of Savvy and forgive the descent into tired flabbiness, but not at $45.

For the 2019 vintage, gooseberry nose gives way to a silky smooth palate with subtle fruit, finishing with tangy moreish acid and a hint of flint. Value for money: average.

I suspect that the French put lower grade wine in screw top bottles. I have had this wine in a corked bottle and it was excellent but the screw top version is a waste of money.

Domaine Des Grosses Pierres Sancerre is an impressive white with fabulous florals on the nose and a palate packed with citrus fruit flavour and a refreshing mineral edge. Partner this one up with seafood or spicy cuisine and you won't be disappointed

Not as fruit-forward as its NZ Sauvignon Blanc counterparts, but well-balanced with tertiary aromas/flavours! Profile of citrus, chalk, pineapple, passionfruit, chamomile, and herbs (kinda like oregano).
