Have been a long time drinker of Maschio's orange label prosecco. So we decided to try this more expansive version (twice the price). It comes from the same Italian region as the orange label, has the same alcohol content (11 percent) and both are labelled extra dry. What was the difference, we wondered. We found the yellow label to be fruitier - - heavy on the citrus and pear - - which was not to our liking. My wife thought it was also sweeter, but the stronger fruit was what I noticed most. We'll stick with the orange label, which we find crisp and refreshing without being tart like many champagnes.
