You don't need to look at any review, I am here to give you a clear understanding of this drink. In Japanese kokutou means black sugar and that is the key ingredient that allows this drink to be different to other umeshu and making it sweeter. Umeshu would be your plum liquor. (It isn't a wine) The flavour is unique and very easy to drink. Personally it's one of those you don't want to drink mixed however I will not stop your creativity. A lot of people think this taste like medicine or don't like the flavour as that would create a redundant review as everyone paletes are different. If your into unique Asian flavours I would give a massive thumbs up.

Bought this one as I like the normal umeshu and the green tea one. However this one turns out to be very disappointing. Have you tried the molasses from chemist? This wine is way worse than that.
