Upon opening, a strong, sharp nose hits you - it is somewhat unpleasant. In the glass it leaves a rim of small bubbles. The taste is tart, sharp and not at all appealing. The taste lingers, like an old ear-worm song from the 90s.
I didn't like it, my partner didn't like it, so it went back in the bottle to be used for cooking (hopefully it doesn't ruin coq au vin).

Cabernet Sauvignon
Great depth of colour and a fragrant, aromatic nose reminiscent of cooler vintages in Bordeaux. Loads of complexing characters. Classic cassis and blackberry fruit with garden herb, pencil pine and gravel mineral nuance. The palate is medium to full in weight, claret like with its grippy but integrated tannins that is driving a long finish. Excellent in its youth it will also reward with short term cellaring.
