I enjoy Pinot noirs more than all else. This was closer to a dirty Shiraz than Pinot noir. Rough and spicy almost. But it's not a nice spice. It's almost like red wine vinegar. As if it's been opened for weeks even though it hasn't. Nothing fruity or interesting. I don't usually review and I haven't had a bad bottle like this in years so I want people to know.

To be fair, there might be a YV component but I would say it might primarily come from around Yea and King Valley. The give away is that the label clearly says "Victorian cool climate". if you want the stablemate with the black label which incidentally will cost a few bucks more then it is a YV pinot. Having established that fact, the white label is very good value at $13. Hard to fault. But at full retail, go elsewhere.
