I’m subject to hyperbole, but I can’t recall enjoying a beer more than this. Six cans in - and at 7.8% I hasten to add that’s over several nights - this might just be my favourite ever. Great malt, beautifully balanced hops and a rich, satisfying mouth feel. And best of all … I just noticed a slab is just 96 bucks. Bargain for such a high quality drop.

Great Red, very satisfying & a great alternate to a Sour (which are generally low/mid strength) Good value! This will be a regular purchase for me!

Last year in Ireland I was introduced to Smithwick's Red Ale. Can't buy that here in Oz but this is a very close second so far that I've been able to get. Smooth and enjoyable.

Red ales of various types are generally my favourite beers and this is a reasonably good example. The caramel notes in reds enhance the taste as well as the pleasing-to-the-eye impact of them when the glass is filled. Fox Hat Red Pelt India Red Ale has a denser, cloudier in-glass appearance than many; and this deeper impression is matched by its high alcohol induced sharpness. Sadly, for me, the sharp edge to the flavour is what keeps it down to 3.5 stars. If you're looking for a single glass sipper, you may rate it higher and also be happier with the price.

Perfectly balanced beer. Full body, lots of flavour and aroma and super smooth. One of my all time favourites.
