Have been drinking this for years, a beautifully balanced IPA with just the right proportion of bitter & sweet.

Fox Hat (where/wear the Fock’s that) is an awesome brewery that is difficult to find in NSW - when Dan Murphy’s is struggling with supply you know it has to be good. The red pelt is my favourite, as good as Modus’ former tenant, just at half the price. The metric IPA, is a little underwhelming from its name, but I can’t think of a better IPA, and they have the phat mongrel which is good, but if available, pass on this and go straight to the full mongrel. - a 10% Russian imperial stout. Not to be drunk as a beer, but as an affogato/ spider. One can does three guests, serve a scoop of ice cream in a brandy balloon, use a port glass to serve the stout, pour over and enjoy. I thought when I first tried this it would be like sardines and chocolate - a terrible match! But it works a treat! The bitterness (120IBUs) is offset by the sweetness of the ice cream and it comes across as a match made in heaven. Enough said!
