I generally don't like red wine all that much, and I really don't like Cab Savs or Shiraz, so I was very surprised by how much I enjoyed this. So much so that I got a case while it's on the member special for $15 a bottle.

Very smooth on the palate, so much so that the bottle was emptied in quick time. Can understand why it is rated by the reviewers. Surprisingly fresh, a real shiraz aroma leaving you with a pleasant taste.

Very happy to find this last week at Dan Murphy. Have always bought online through Cellar Door. Hope this remains a regular stocked item now. Last week paid $15.00 per bottle which is a fair price. Today $21.50, not happy. As much as I enjoy this wine, totally overpriced at $21.50.

Short version - Just get it and try. It is better than many $25+ bottles out there. I bought this one as a speculator, taking it to dinner at a friends house. Warm, full of flavour that lasted forever. It was extremely drinkable on its own but went really well with the slow cooked beef. Heavy on the tobacco and chocolate it is a great winter wine that will warm from the inside. - Plus all the wine swank that the reviewer said

Just looking at the retro label was a warmly nostalgic experience, and it was with a little trepidation I tasted the first glass. At the modest price I didn't expect to be overly impressed. Perhaps this was merely gimmicky promotion. But I was elated to find a well-structured, full-flavoured, robust wine that was simply a comforting pleasure to drink. Extraordinary value.
