On the palate, it’s exactly what I want from a Japanese lager light-bodied but full of nuance. What I love most is the balance. It’s refined without being boring crisp enough for a summer session, yet crafted with real attention to detail. You can taste the Japanese inspiration, but it still feels distinctly Australian in its easy-going drinkability. Honestly, Mr Matsumoto could go toe-to-toe with the big names like Asahi or Sapporo - maybe even beat them on freshness. It’s exactly what I want in a Japanese-style lager: uncomplicated, balanced, and dangerously sessionable for summer. Verdict: Smooth, crisp, and perfectly balanced —a love letter to Japanese brewing with a touch of Aussie soul.

I enjoy Japanese beers and saw this on shelf so picked it up. It did not dissappoint, has the expected clean crisp flavour. As a bonus Matso's is Australian owned.
