It tastes like a campfire on a rainy Scottish beach, wrapped in dark chocolate and sea salt. Absolutely unforgettable.

I’ve just begun my whisky journey and started with the Lagavulin 16 and the Oban Little Bay. At first I liked the Oban. The Lagavulin tasted too medicinal and I really didn’t like it, so…I started drinking it with a little water. By the time the two bottles were missing a quarter, I was drinking the Lagavulin straight and not really liking the Oban. I only drink a nip a few times a week between dinner and bedtime but now I need a splash of water with the Oban and the Lagavulin is savoured neat. It’s become my go to whisky. I don’t think either of these are recommended for beginner whisky drinkers but I’m so glad I found the Lagavulin 16yrs. It’s a beautifully peated, single malt Scottish whisky. It might be one to work up to if you’ve just started out but you should definitely work up to this if you’re interested in peated Scottish whisky. It is a beautiful, smooth whisky to drink straight. It’s lovely! I will always have a bottle of this on hand.
