I would recommend this to a friend!
Sadly unable to try this wine at the moment due to recent transplant medical issue but took it around to family gathering and got the nod of enthusiastic approval which is a top recommendation as normally they are the first ones to bag a wine if no good !! Beware as usual the advertised vintage was not available so took a punt on the 17 lesser rated year and tribe were satisfied

Shiraz Grenache Mataro
The Schulz family have a long and distinguished history in the Barossa Valley and the Butcher's Block Shiraz Grenache Mataro pays homage to era when the family were an essential part of the meat trade in the region. Part of the wine for this blend comes from the original old vine plantings that date back to the mid 1800's. With concentration that is more often seen in McLaren versions of this blend, the wine exudes complexity with plenty of ripe fruit with balanced oak integration.
