Very nice drop. My initial purchase was 2 x 6 packs followed by returning to buy a full carton.

This is a beer I’ve bought a few times over the past couple years and can sympathise with some of the negative comments here. The first time I had this beer from a bottle it was fantastic, thick and creamy, settled like a Guinness, but the last two six packs I have bought have been flat as, no head and no settling almost like there’s no nitrogen in there at all! Not sure of the science behind it but but disappointing that it feels like a gamble when buying the beer. 3 stars because when you get it right, it’s a solid 5 stars for me, but the inconsistency is very frustrating.

An outstanding stout, beautiful rich flavour, creamy head and the nitro does it's work perfectly. Those saying it's flat do not understand the style, try a Guinness on tap and you will find the same texture. Just follow the instructions, fully invert the bottle while pouring into a glass and watch the beautiful head form, enjoy!

I buy stouts and porters every week. I love this style of drink. I always photograph and rate them for my records. This is a superb drop. Sweet but not too sweet. No artificial tastes (some add everything but floorboards to develop a ‘taste’). Full bodied, creamy. I highly rate this product. It delivers everything!

Purchased a six pack on recommendation by staff member at Dan Murphy’s. Opened one and it was flat. Bad luck I thought, a dud bottle. Opened a second one, and dead flat also. 4 Pines seem to have either a serious quality control problem, or a very dud product.

This is a very solid nitro stout often positioned at a very good price at Dans. Nitro means the gas in the bottle is nitrogen so it takes a particular pouring method to get the best out of this beer. Invert the bottle once or twice and then open it and pour it hard into the glass. The nitrogen bursts into life and u get a pour like a guiness ina pub. This beer has nice choc cocoa tones and is often on special at Dans and so its a great buy. Sometimes I have been disappointed by the pour quality - the gas doesnt always do its thing as well as it should. I have wondered if this is related to shelf life but have not yet explored that experiment. Generally soft cocoa finish on the palate may have some lactic in it. Worth purchasing when it is less than $18 per six.
