This wine was a pleasure to drink. It was so smooth and paired beautifully with Christmas dinner. It is light red in colour, but has some depth when it hits the palate, without being overpowering. I would compare its drinkability to that of a pinot noir. It was a real crowd pleaser and I wish I had of bought a second bottle of this to share.

Forget all the doom and gloom of 2011 shocker you have been hearing... because this has no relevance to this beauty. Perfect velvety texture, just right amount of spices (nutmeg is the first thing that comes to mind) and hints of soft tar that carry the wine way longer than you come to expect and of course customary fruit of McLaren Grenache (without making it a berry popsicle thanks to right level of savoriness). Bravo Oliver's Taranga!

Wow, I was happily surprised at the depth for the 2011 Grenache. A bit "french" in body but full of uplifting spice and fruit. Thoroughly enjoyed.

Oliver's Taranga Vineyards Grenache is made with grapes from some of the oldest vineyards in the McLaren Vale region. The result is a deliciously deep red with a fruit driven flavour, with subtle undertones of earthiness. One for those who prefer a more mature red.
