Wow!!
This is stunning. Its big rich classic McLaren fruit flavour of black fruits and berries. It is a deep purple almost black colour and thick, with the fruit being sourced from 80yr old plus vineyards. Squid Ink is a great name for it.
But the thing that makes this so different to most premium McLaren vale fruit is that is has been aged in OLD american oak barrels. So it has a fine tannin finish that is almost "dusty" and has a nice fine dark choc and coffee finish.
Its delicious. I fell in love with this wine from the 2008 vintage, and the others since are just as great.

I was expecting better. As a lover of the heavy shiraz that is what i was expecting. You can get better bottles at this price.

Colour: Deep red with vibrant purple hues. Nose: Deep dark fruits with some black olive, earthy complexity entice the senses followed by complementing dusty oak characters.
