Vintage 2018 This Albarino from Rias Baixas DOP in Galicia, NW Spain should be in everyone’s wine collection. The colour is a beautiful lime/lemon. The nose wafts lime, white pear, apple pie and a touch of cream. The palate blends lime and white pear with a gentle hint of pink chewing gum which works well in the mix of flavours. The acidity is refreshing and complements the soft mid palate creaminess. Needs to be cold for optimal enjoyment. iS Winescale 7.5 pts Great Quality Wine.

This is full flavoured and essentially dry but with a mouth watering fruit complexity and deliciousness. This is the wine to match with rich seafood dishes. The grape is Albariño and the flavour is to die for.

A pleasant rich Spanish dry white suited to accompany meals in a similar vein. Worth trying to sample the Albarino grape style.

Needs to be enjoyed with food to appreciate its flavours

This wine is one of the best we have tasted, and we have tasted many, from France, Italy, New Zealand and of course Australia. It has a beautiful balanced taste with no acidity at all, very smooth finish, overall a very enjoyable stylish white wine, which is well priced. Don't ask me about tropical, or Durian taste or other such descriptions, I'm not into these over the top ridiculous details:-)

This 2011 Albarino wine is a good introduction to the variety and it shows that the Spaniards really do have something offer in white wine. It is full in flavour, rich with stone fruit characters and has a pleasing rounded structure and finish. It will go with richer chicken and fish dishes and Spanish food. The variety has an integrity and distinction that sets it apart from many other run-of-the-mill Mediterranean whites. This truly is a noble wine of great interest and indicative of a potential variety for Australia. Worth trying while we can afford it.
