Classic red that provokes memories of being a backpacker in my 20s! Has the special quality of being gentle on the throat but gives the tingle of old France. Friends are amazed when we play, guess the price! Please don’t increase that btw. Great find.

Reserve De Gassac - 2009 This wine hails from the Languedoc region on the Mediterranean coast of southern France. Don't be put off by the "Vin de Pays" designation. This is a superbly executed cabernet/merlot/syrah blend that punches way above its sub $20 asking price. A complex bouquet of earth, green leaf and capsicum leads the way. The palette is medium bodied, and full in the mouth. There are dark fruits with pepper and spice. Its dusty & fleshy. Lovely fine grain tannins provide great texture & dryness to the finish. I drank this over 3 nights, with & without food, and it kept me totally engaged. Ace!

Sorry to say, but I don't really know the jargon of a wine guru. I just know what I like, and I really like this wine. Very smooth and fruity, this wine will suit all meals. It is also a very good drinking wine, so don't be afraid to crack a bottle while watching a DVD. There is at least one bottle of this wine in my house at all times. Yum.
