A really enjoyable Shiraz that is leaps and bounds ahead of Barossa Shiraz. Up there with Clare Valley and Coonawarras best.

Watery and Difficult to Place Origin of Wine

A weak watery "shiraz". Nothing like the blurb on the bottle. The wine name describes a residence / vineyard which has nothing to do with the wine's origin The company name Eurunderee refers to a region north of Mudgee. But the wine is described as "Wine of Australia" I thought I was buying a full-bodied wine from the Mudgee district. Instead, I bought a watery wine from anywhere in Australia. Note the bottle on the shelf, does not say "Mudgee" as per the illustration. I'm very unhappy.

Fruit for this wine has been sourced 100% from Bunnamagoo vineyards with grapes harvested at night to assist a cold soak of the resultant fruit ensuring extraction of colour at this early stage. Strong red fruits of plum and red berry, with hints of spice and blackberry are evident on the nose and palate. Moderate tannin structure extends the palate and accentuates the red fruit.
