The bittersweet flavour of this vermouth is very satisfying when served on the rocks with a slice of orange! Only 14% alcohol so a tumbler full is a mellow way to sip the night away.
For a “sweet” Rosso vermouth, it’s missing that edge of sweetness that Cinzano has. The herbal notes are also very strong and overpower almost anything it’s mixed with. It tried making both a Negroni and a Manhattan with this but in both instances it failed to appeal to my tastes.
"Any time, any place anywhere" as they used to sing in the 70s! Thank you Dan for selling Martini Rosso- been sipping Cinzano for years but wanting Martini (but - they're close) - Martini for me is the Right One :-)
Red Vermouth can only be reviewed subjectively & in the context of one's usual tipples. This has faint aromas of pink lolly & oak and tastes an oily sweet. Great in a Negroni or neat w' Gin. For a killer digestive, mix this, Fernet & preferred Bitters.
