This vodka has an odor slightly like something industrial and a strange chemical flavor too. We thought the idea of the cask and lower carbon footprint was a good one and were prepared to give it a go on that basis. Three of us had two drinks each, mixed with tonic water but the unpleasant smell and flavor was still overpowering. We won't be buying it again because if it is not enjoyable it is a waste of money. No-one is keen to drink anymore of the 1.3 liters or so that is left. Would not recommend.

I gave this a chance because the cask idea seemed like a clever way to save on bottling. Even cheap vodka should be neutral in smell and taste — that’s what makes it good for mixing. I drink vodka with soda water, where the spirit is very exposed, and this one doesn’t hold up. The smell is unpleasant, almost like turpentine, and there’s an almond-like taste. It doesn’t meet my basic expectations of vodka.
