Bought 4 bottles on pre-sale as 96 points wines for under $40 is pretty good and rare. This wine is good but I was hoping for some wow and it never arrived. There are many others at half the price that display similar qualities and taste just as nice as this Cab Sav

Not sure what the fuss is about this wine, it just does not taste great, and I’m on my 3rd bottle to be sure. I awaited it eagerly for the wine after the announcement of the awards but have just been so disappointed with the case. Maybe I need to let it age for a while. At this price I have plenty of other options.

So exciting to taste a trophy winner! This wine is super smooth with lovely balance and nothing out of pace. Very long finish to this wine too... Signature style, we would like to try this in a few years, if it lasts that long!

I also secured 6 bottles via pre-order. I enjoyed it, but didn't think it was worth the price. I did find it smoothed out after breathing for an hour. I am sure it will benefit from time in the cellar. It wasn't bad, it's just I was expecting to be wowed after all the hype.

I managed to get the Pastoralist via pre-order. Wondered what the hype was and I suppose at the price, it’s ok. Nothing spectacular. It tastes smooth almost like a good merlot, drinkable and won’t cause any offence to those who aren’t wine drinkers and who dislike any tannin aftertaste. There isn’t any lingering nor acidic taste so maybe that’s to do with the palates of the IWC judges and current fashion of the British consumer market. Not memorable but with a 15% alcohol volume, I hope it will develop over time and bring out more complex flavours aside from the dominance of the berries. Bouquet could be stronger. It’s not sophisticated enough for my taste but this was the best of the cab sav lot at the IWC. Enjoy with non-wine friends and they won’t be disappointed or expect too much from it.
