Lord Howe Island's wild bush lemons were planted by early settlers. This fruit was crucial to the Island's success and sustained the inhabitants during the long periods between passing ships. At the southern end of the Island, the 'Ship Tree' at Soldiers Creek bore the names of three ships and their crew. The carvings were made whilst replenishing water supplies and to this day wild lemons are still found close to the stream used by these early Whalers. We know you'll love the unique wild lemon.
