I really liked this Pinot. It had some great red fruit notes of plum and cherry with some blackcurrent coming through. Definately worth a try!

I was expecting much more from a wine in this price range. What I got was a thin, flavourless, sour version of a pinot without length, and an overwhelming bitterness which had me searching for the sink. Reminds me of those light $10 bottles which profess to be pinot but are just sour. light red wines. They really need to up their game to demand prices like this.

I normally prefer Clare Valley Rieslings, but decided to give this a go. I was pleasantly surprised by the Tamar Ridge. I found it as described, crisp and intense and quite drinkable. It reflects its cool climate origins, with appropriate acidity and no doubt would benefit from some more time in the bottle. Drinkable now, it goes well with chicken and accentuates the palate admirably.

Light lemon with an overall light greenish hue. Beautiful floral and lime nose - just lovely. Palate is well structured with depth and layering fruit complexity with limes & minerality, just great depth, leading the great acid wrap around coiling to a long lingering finish. Sensational stuff!! 96/100.

Tough vintage, but still managed to produce a decent wine. Good with light duck and pork dishes with light red wine sauces.

Andrew Pirie was in charge here until last year, when the business was sold to new owners. Andrew has made as much Tassie Pinot as anyone, so I had high hopes. The wine started badly with a hot nose not typical of Pinot Noir, and the colour is very much on the light side. The palate lean and mean with the acid holding sway over ungenerous fruit. There’s length but no depth to fill it in and most of all this wine lacks the soft, round, velvety characters we prize in good Pinot Noirs. And charm. And redeeming features, really.
