What is the BWS Cooler?
The BWS Cooler is back for its fourth year! Crack open the Cooler from the BWS app for your chance to win epic prizes. We have 3 Grand prizes up for grabs (a Fiat 500 car, an Adrenaline Holiday Adventure, and $30,000 cash), as well as millions of instant win prizes like experiences, eVouchers, free BWS drinks and more. Is the promotion the same as last year? How many prizes are up for grabs?
We've made big changes to the promotion. You're still able to play daily, with the same easy scratch/swipe & win mechanic you know and love. The prize pool has blown out to a whopping $18M this summer, with 2.5 million individual prizes to be won. In an exciting change for 2023, this year there are THREE grand prizes - including a Fiat 500 car, an Adrenaline Holiday Adventure valued at $25,000 and $30,000 COLD HARD CASH.

When does the promotion start and end?
The promotion runs from 12.01am AEDT Wednesday 11/01/2023 and runs until 11.59pm AEDT Tuesday 28/02/2023.

Is it free to play? For realsies?
Yep, it’s absolutely free. Participate daily for your chance to win. Just download the BWS on tAPP app and sign into your BWS account to to check what’s in your Cooler everyday! If you've already got the app, make sure it's the most up-to-date version to play (check your app store)!

Who's allowed to play?
You need to be in Australia and aged 18+ to have a crack. The BWS Cooler promotion is also not available in the Northern Territory (sorry folks).

Do I need a BWS account to play?
Yep, you'll need to have a BWS account to play and be signed into the app. You'll be prompted to make an account when you first download the app (and it's easy as to set up). Linking your Everyday Rewards account is optional.

What does a 1 in 3 chance to win really mean?
Prizes set to be won are randomly picked by a draw engine. Every swipe has a 1 in 3 chance to win an instant prize. Every swipe gets you one entry into the grand prize draws, meaning you'll increase your chances of winning the Fiat 500 car, Adreneline Holiday Adventure or the sweet $30,000 cash. How to play

Righto, how do I play? Talk me through this.

1) Download the BWS on tAPP app to your device.
2) Create an account using your full name nd email, and verify that you're over the age of 18. (If you've done all this before, just make sure you've updated your app to the latest version).
3) Accept the Cooler terms and conditions.
4) On the app's home screen, tap on the BWS Cooler banner. Now just swipe the ice away with your finger to reveal what's inside!

Wait 'swipe'...? Is this a dating app?
No dates here sorry. Call it what you will: a swipe, a reveal... Just wipe away that ice! (Like a scratchie, but filled with goodies.)

I've played before and have the BWS on tAPP app. Do I have to update it to play?
Yep, just update your BWS app to participate. We've made some improvements so grab that latest version! Go to your App Store/Google Play to update the BWS app, then open it and off you go.

How do you pick the winners and would you pretty please pick me?
Playing the Cooler is a game of chance, prizes are generated through a draw engine that randomly selects your outcome. Feeling lucky at 3am? Be our guest! It doesn’t matter where you are based in Australia (with exception to NT residents). We DO have some local state-based prizes, so make sure you select your nearest store in the app for accurate prizing.

My finger's itching. How often can I swipe to win a prize?
One swipe per day, and for the REALLY keen, our day resets at midnight AEDT. Be sure to check back every day for more chances to win. Those that swipe every day for 5 days straight will also earn themselves a bonus swipe to use on that 5th day.

Do I have to be a Woolworths Everyday Rewards member to play?
No it's not mandatory, but linking your account will let you earn points with BWS, check your Everyday Rewards balance and much more! Win/win.

Can I play big like on a desktop or tablet?
The Cooler is available on mobile devices with the latest version of the BWS on tAPP app downloaded. Check compatibility advice within your app store (Google Play for Android or App Store for iPhone). If your device doesn't support the BWS app, unfortunately you won't be able to participate.

How will I be told if I win? I mean, when I win.
Instant win prize and Gift winners will be notified on-screen in BWS on tAPP immediately at the time of entering and also via email. Winners of travel prizes will be notified by phone and email. The grand prize winners will be notified by phone and by email within two business days of the relevant draw. All winners of prizes valued at over $250 will have their name and state/territory of residence published on https://bws.com.au/terms-conditions/cooler-winners on 03/03/2023 for a period of 28 days.

What instant prizes can I win?
There's over 2.5 million instant prizes up for grabs. Too many to list out here, by entering you could win any of the following: a trip for two to Japan, an Aperol Melbourne weekend, winery & brewery experiences, Australian Open Ground Passes, e-vouchers (for Adrenaline, Kogan, Ampol, Airtasker, Menulog or Hoyts), and a whole lot more! BWS is also giving away free drinks and you can even win SipCoin - a currency to use on your next purchase at BWS. Swipe once per day for your chance to win! How can I check what I’ve won?
All you need to do is swipe daily for your chance to win an instant prize. When you win, your prize will be shown in the 'prize and coins section' of your Cooler wallet in the app.

Do my prizes expire?
Each prize will have different redemption and expiry dates. These are clearly marked on each prize in your "My Wallet" section. Keep an eye on your prize redemption and expiry dates, because once they have exceeded these, they are no longer redeemable.

All SipCoins (product discounts) & free alcohol product redeemable via the App (via pickup or delivery services or in store redemption barcodes) must be used within 14 days of winning. Upon verification of winning, all physical prizes and experience prizes will be placed in your prize wallet in BWS on tAPP and must be redeemed by 12.01am (AEDT) 14/03/2023, unless otherwise stated. Winners of travel prizes will be notified by phone and email with details on how to verify their entry and claim their prize.

When will I get my prizes? (excluding SipCoin and free product)
All physical prizes, e-vouchers and select experience prizes (depending on the type of prize) will be delivered to your nominated email or residential address that you provided at the time of claiming your prize. Allow 7-30 days for delivery.

Make sure you've clicked “Redeem now” in the app, opened the email from us and followed the prompts to confirm your email and postal details.

I'm a hustler. Can I transfer, sell, swap or trade my prizes?
Err, no. Sorry. Prizes can't be transferred, exchanged, traded or redeemed for cash. All prizes are attached to your account and cannot be transferred.

Is it true NSW residents can't win FREE liquor prizes?
Sadly, you've heard right. Due to NSW legislation and limitations, we have removed NSW participants from winning alcohol as part of this promotion. But you can still win millions of other great prizes!

Can I get a refund on my prizes? Just asking...
All prizes are non refundable. This includes merchandise, tickets or experiences which are all non refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash. You also cannot get a refund on SipCoins if your online order or in store purchase is cancelled or returned or for any prizes you have won that are unclaimed or expired. Grand prize draw

What are the grand prizes this year?
New to Cooler in 2023, there will be not 1 but 3 grand prizes! The prizes are:

- An Australian Adventure Holiday experience including 1x $15,000 Adrenaline gift voucher for you to spend on any adventure sitewide and $10,000 worth of Digital Master Card to spend towards organising flights/accommodation (if needed). Total value $25,000
- A 2022 Fiat 500 (orange) 1.2 Lounge S312 hatchback. Total value $28,200
- $30,000 cash transferred via EFT

The 3 grand prize winners will each be determined via a draw, done throughout the promotional period. The more you play, the more entries you’ll get and the greater your chance of winning!

How do I get entries?
Play the Cooler daily! Every time you swipe, regardless of whether you get an instant win, you'll gain 1 entry into the major prize draw. This also applies if you have gotten an extra swipe!

Where can I see my entries?
Just head to the Cooler homepage in the BWS app, and your total entries will be displayed on the top right corner of your screen. The prizes you see are unique to you! Don't forget to keep swiping to have more chances to win one of our grand prizes!

When will the Grand Prizes be drawn and the winners announced?
There will be 3 grand prize draws which will each take place at 12pm (AEDT) at Pilgrim Communications , as follows:

Is there tax on these prizes?
Nope! It's all yours to keep.

Winner photoshoot instore
If you win one of our grand prizes, we’d like to make some noise, so we’ll need you to take part in some publicity, photography, and other promotional activity, without any compensation (but we assure you it’s no biggie). We’ll also be using your name and image in some promotional or advertising activity. We’ll contact you to arrange a convenient time for photography at a place that’s local to you.

What's this about a second chance draw?
All un-won instant win prizes valued at $100 or over will roll over to the second chance draw (for unclaimed/unwon instant win prizes). For more information, check out our T&Cs!

What's the unclaimed prize draw?
If a grand prize has not been accepted or claimed by the prize claim date above or if, after making all reasonable attempts, the Promoter can't contact a grand prize winner (or a grand prize winner does not contact the Promoter) by the claim date above, the relevant entry/ies will be discarded and the Promoter will re-award the relevant grand prize/s to a Reserve Entrant/s or carry out an unclaimed grand prize draw at 12pm (AEST) on 04/04/2023 at Pilgrim to randomly distribute the relevant grand prize/s (in descending order of value, if relevant). Any winner/s in this draw will be informed by phone and by email within two business days of determination and will also have their name and state/territory of residence published on https://bws.com.au/terms-conditions/cooler-winners on 12/04/2023 for a period of 28 days.

What is SipCoin? (website only)

What are SipCoins?
SipCoin is our digital currency for you to enjoy at BWS this summer. They come in 4 categories - beer, wine, spirits and premix and they’re basically dollars off selected brands from a category of products which can be won in increments of $5, $7, $10, and $15. SipCoins act as vouchers which you can redeem:
1) In store
2) Through the BWS app by placing a pick up or delivery order

Do SipCoins expire?
SipCoins expire exactly 14 days from when they are won. Once they expire, the're gone forever, so make sure you use them before you lose them!

What brands can I choose from?
SipCoin can be used only on participating brands of the BWS promotion. Each category includes a range of favourite brands and products to choose from. To see the full list of eligible brands and products, go to your Cooler wallet, and select redeem. If you’re in store, keep an eye out for the point of sale on the shelves that say ‘I’m a part of the Cooler promotion’.

Some of the most popular brands in each category include:
Beer & Cider: Balter, Coopers, Great Northen, James Squire, Mosey, Peroni, Somersby (and more!)

Can I exchange my SipCoin? I don't normally drink that category
Unfortunately, SipCoins are category specific and can't be exchanged. The good news is that each swipe has a 1 in 3 chance of winning. Keep swiping the Cooler daily for more chances to win!

How to redeem my SipCoin (app & web)

I won some SipCoin. Can I shop the way I want?
Sure can! Shop straight away via the app for Pick up or Delivery, or head to your local BWS and use your SipCoin instore by activating a barcode from the app and presenting it at the counter when you're in store. Remember, you have 60 minutes to use your SipCoins once you activate them for in-store use.

How do I check if I'm shopping for an app purchase or in store?
You can check and change your shopping preference from online to in store from within your app wallet screen. You can also change your preference when you’re selecting which SipCoin to use. You can change your preference and your store location whenever you like.

How do I check how many SipCoins I've got?
You can check how many SipCoins you have under the ‘Coins’ section in your Cooler Wallet. To access your wallet, go to the BWS app home screen and select ‘my wallet’.

What values of SipCoin are there?
You can win SipCoins valued at $5, $7, $10 and $15. Each SipCoin is for a specific category and these categories can’t be changed. For example, a $7 Beer coin can’t be exchanged for a Wine coin, but there are so many prizes to be won, just keep swiping!

What can I use my SipCoin on?
There are 4 different categories of SipCoin to be won. Each SipCoin can only be used within that category, so a beer coin can only be used on eligible beers, a wine SipCoin can only be used on eligible wines, and so on. We’ve curated the most popular brands at BWS to make sure you can find something you love. Check the product list in the app or on the shelves in store.

Can I spend Sipcoins on all brands from the portfolio?
Your SipCoins only can be used on a selected list of products in each category.
You can see the list of eligible products from your coin wallet in the BWS app, or look for the in store shelf tickets that say ‘I’m part of the Cooler promotion!’ If you have any questions, a team member will be happy to help you out.

Are there any product exclusions I can't use them on?
SipCoins cannot be used on single cans or bottles of beer, cider or premix but they can be used on 4 or 6 packs and cases. Other exclusions include wine less than 750mL and spirits less than 700mL.

Do my SipCoins stack?
SipCoins do not stack - meaning you can't use more than 1 coin from the same category in the same transaction. If you won a $5 beer coin but also have another $5 beer coin in your wallet, you will only be able to use ONE beer coin per transaction. The good news: you can choose to use 1 coin from each category per transaction. For example: ONE $5 Beer coin, $5 Wine coin, $10 Spirits coin and $7 Premix coin.

How many SipCoins can I redeem in one go?
You can redeem up to 4 SipCoins per transaction – 1 from each category. If you have more than 1 in the same category, you can use it in your next order.

What if the products I want to use my SipCoin on are not available in my selected store?
Stock may be limited and varies store to store. Try choosing a different product from the category list, or check a nearby store to see if they currently have it in stock.

I want a refund! What happens to my SipCoin if my order is cancelled?
Any SipCoins used in your order will be refunded and will appear in your wallet in the “Coins” tab with a further 14 days expiry. Your standard payment will be refunded back into your nominated bank account.

How long do I have to redeem my SipCoin before it expires in the app?
You have 14 days from the date and time you won the SipCoin. Keep an eye out in your wallet to see which prizes are about to expire. If you're forgetful, why not turn on your push notifications and we'll send you a reminder when they're about to expire, so you don't miss out!

Redeeming SipCoin for an online pick up or delivery order (app & web)

How do I use my SipCoin for a pick up or delivery order?
Choose your desired category or prize from your wallet and click 'Redeem'. Then choose the product you want to purchase from the applicable products, and add to cart. At the checkout, the value of your SipCoin will be deducted from the total. Choose from 30 min pick up or 1 hour delivery and have your drinks ready when you need them. How convenient.

Where can I see the full list of eligible brands?
When you’re ready to redeem your SipCoins, you'll be taken to a Cooler products page where you can see the full list of eligible products. Select more than one category if you like or unhighlight categories if you're feeling overwhelmed. You can also use the filter and sort functions to see the list your way.

Where in my cart can I find my SipCoin discount?
When 'reviewing & checkout' scroll down to the My Cooler section and payments to see your Cooler discounts applied.

I can't use one of my SipCoins? It says "error"
You can only redeem 1 SipCoin per category. You won't be able to add any more from the same category (soz!). The good news is, your SipCoin is valid for 14 days from the time you won it. Put in your back pocket and come back in a week or so!

How do I unredeem/remove SipCoins from my shopping cart in the app?
There are two ways to unredeem your SipCoins. 1) In the shopping cart, remove the products or deselect your promotion disount in your 'My Cooler section' of the cart. Or In payment summary, click on 'apply discount' and remove the SipCoin

Redeeming SipCoin at my local BWS store (app & web)

How do I redeem my SipCoin in store?
Redeeming your SipCoin is easy. From the app, simply select 'redeem in store' and choose the Sipcoin prize you wish to redeem. Repeat this process for multiple prizes but keep in mind that they must be from a different category. Once you're ready proceed past the pop up box to activate your in store barcode 60 minute countdown timer.

Is it true? I only have 60 mins to head into store once I've activated my barcode/s?
That’s right. Once you’ve selected your SipCoin prize you’ll be prompted to activate your barcode. But HOLD FIRE! You’ll only have 60 minutes to redeem your prize once your barcode is activated, so your best bet is waiting until you’re in store to press go.

The 60 minute timer ran out, can I restart?
Once it’s gone, it’s gone for good. But don’t let your prize slip through your fingers. Make sure you’re in store before you activate the barcode. That way you’ll have 60 minutes to pick your drinks!

I activated my barcode/s and now I can't find it in the app and I'm IN STORE. Times are ticking.
Don’t panic. Your barcode is safe and sound. If you accidentally navigate away from it, you can always locate it at the bottom of the screen in-App. Simply click the banner and it will appear. And don’t forget to keep an eye on the clock!

Can I redeem more than 1 SipCoin?
You can use up to four SipCoins per transaction, but only one SipCoin per category (beer; wine; spirits; premix) per transaction. For example, if you have a $7 and $5 wine discount, you can only use these in separate transactions. If you have a $5 wine discount and a $5 beer discount, you can use both in the same transaction.

How do I find the eligible products in store?
Finding eligible Cooler products is easy. Look out for Cooler promo tickets in store (hint: they’re on the shelves!). Otherwise, ask one of our friendly team members who are always happy to help you find what you’re looking for.

What do I need to bring with me to the counter?
The first thing you’ll need is your selected drink! Then, activate your single-use barcode in the App and have it ready when you come to the checkout. We’ll scan both, apply your discount and Bob’s your uncle.

There's no internet reception in store. What should I do?
Have you tried waving your phone around above your head? Just kidding! If you’re struggling to load the barcode, you might need to step outside for better reception.

My barcode doesn't work
Hmm. There are a few reasons this might happen.
Make sure the product you’ve chosen is part of the Cooler promotion. Look out for our promo tickets in store to find eligible products.
Check that you’ve activated the right SipCoin category. For example, wine SipCoin will only be available for wine products.
Your barcode will only work once, so make sure you aren’t using an old barcode.
If you’re still having trouble, ask one of our friendly staff for assistance.

Redeeming my prizes (other than SipCoin) (app & web)

Do I need to redeem my prizes or will they automatically be sent to me?
To redeem your prize simply hit the ‘redeem’ button and pop in your email address. We’ll send you a confirmation email with details on how to claim your prize. Follow the link, submit your details and you’re good to go.

How long will it take for my non BWS liquor prizes to be sent to me?
All physical prizes, e-vouchers and select experience prizes (depending on the type of prize) will be delivered to the email or residential address provided when you claimed your prize. Please allow 7-30 days for delivery pending availability. If your prize is unavailable, you will be awarded a similar prize of equal or greater value.

Can I exchange or return my prize?
Prizes are non-refundable, non-exchangeable and non-transferrable.

When does my prize expire?
Expiry dates for all prizes vary. Please reference the app, your confirmation email or check out the T&C's.

How to redeem my free liquor prize! (app & web)

    I won a free liquor prize. How do I redeem it?
    There's 2 ways to redeem your free liquor prize.

  • 1) Want to arrange an online order (Pick up or delivery)?
  • Using the app - Simply hit the ‘redeem’ button and it will be automatically added to your cart. You can choose to Pick up your order from your nominated BWS store, or have it delivered. Keep in mind that all deliveries have a $30 minimum spend, so you might need to add a few extras to your cart for this option.
  • 2) Redeeming in store?
    Select ‘redeem in store’ in the app. You’ll be prompted to generate a barcode, but hold off until you’re in store – you’ll only have 60 minutes to use it once generated. Select your drinks and head to the checkout with your barcode at the ready. Swipe, pay and you’re on your way."

My local store doesn't have the free liquor product in stock. Can I change it for something similar?
Product availability varies from store to store, so you might find that your prize is unavailable from your nearest BWS. Cooler prizes are non-exchangeable, so why try another store in your area.

The BWS product I've won is not available when I add it to cart. What's the dealio?
Uh oh. This happens from time to time. We try extra hard to make sure we have enough stock in each store, but sometimes we do run out. Your best bet is to try another BWS in your area. With 1400 stores nationwide, you should find what you’re looking for.

When does my free product expire?
You have exactly 14 days from the date and time of your win to redeem your prize. You can check this anytime in the app.

What are bonus swipes and how do I get one?
It's the chance to earn extra swipes, which gets you even more free entries to win an instant prize! All you need to do is swipe 5 days in a row to earn an extra one..

What happens if I miss a day? Do I break my streak?
Unfortunately, yup. If you miss a day, your streak is reset and you'll need to swipe 5 days in a row to get an extra swipe. Don't worry, we'll send you push notification reminders in case you forget to swipe. (don't forget to enable notifications from your app)

Where can I see my extra swipes?
Your extra swipes can be found on the homepage of the Cooler within the BWS app. If you have no extra swipes, you won't see any extra swipes.

Do extra swipes expire?
They do. You've got 24 hours after earning an extra swipe to use it. We'll let you know with a countdown timer. There's no time like the present, so we recommend using it right away so you don't miss out!

Can I use a swipe after it expires? Pleeease?
Once 24 hours have passed, the extra swipe will disappear and you'll no longer be able to use it. If you don't want to miss out, turn on your push notifications for the app and you'll be notified before time runs out.

What are brand and theme days?
This year, the Cooler just got cooler thanks to key dates on the calendar to celebrate some of our favourite brands, occasions and even an EveryDay Rewards grand prize day to keep you excited! On these days, look out for your favourite brands and even sneaky 24 hour prizes that will jackpot on the day.

How will I know when they're on?
You can see the upcoming events calendar from the home page of the Cooler app!

<Trouble shooting

The app keeps crashing and I don’t see the BWS Cooler, what do I do??
Hmm, you might have an outdated version of the app. Try closing the app and reinstalling it. If the problem persists, you can always reach out to our friendly team. Just head to our contact us page, or drop us a line on 1300 138 297.

How do I turn on push notifications?
Turning notifications on is the easiest way to find out when your prize expires and stay abreast of our latest deals. Simply open your system preferences and turn notifications on for BWS on tAPP.

Umm, I haven’t received an email confirmation for my order or prize?
Don’t you hate it when things get lost in the mail? Us too! Sometimes our emails find their way to your junk mail. If you still can't find your confirmation, get in touch and we’ll get it sent out ASAP.

I'm having trouble redeeming my prize. Help?

How can I give you feedback on my BWS Cooler and BWS app experience?

Can I get a refund of my SipCoin?
SipCoins are not refundable. If an online order is cancelled, or you are returning a purchase in store, you will receive a refund for the dollar amount you spent in cash, credit or otherwise. SipCoins will not be refunded or returned to your BWS on tAPP wallet.

What happens to my data once I've registered?
Your data is safely secured in the BWS database. We take your privacy very seriously and will never sell or pass your data on to 3rd parties to market to you without your consent. To access our privacy policy please click here.

How do I unsubscribe from email?
You can do this by logging in to the BWS on tAPP app, pressing the account icon, and then communication and preferences. Inside communications and preferences you can turn marketing emails on and off. Toggle it off and you’ll no longer receive marketing emails from BWS (which means you'll no longer be the first to know about our awesome new offers and promotions).

Yes you can! Please visit our self exclusion page here.

The Cooler is closed, can I still redeem my prizes?
Yep, your prize wallet will remain active as long as you have valid prizes in it. You will need to redeem all prizes in your wallet by 14.3.23. otherwise the prizes will dissappear and you can no longer redeem. Make sure you head to 'redeem your prizes' on the homepage of the BWS app.

The Cooler is closed, what happened to my extra swipe?
"Sorry! Once the Cooler is closed, that's it! Extra swipes, are only valid until the Cooler closes, so swipe in time to avoid disappointment."

SipCoins are not refundable. If an online order is cancelled, or you are returning a purchase in store, you will receive a refund for the dollar amount you spent in cash, credit or otherwise. SipCoins will not be refunded or returned to your Cooler wallet
