Amazing aftertaste not to dry and perfect with pasta Excellent value

Brokenwood certainly have the 'wood' on their "Cricket Pitch Red 2009" providing Wine Lovers that are wanting some action for their bowling but without a huge run chase needed to score. Certainly no need for a night watchman on the graveyard shift as this Cricket Pitch Red is ready to drink now and at a price most Cricket Pitch fans can afford. Almost full dark colour and thickness with a bouquet of ruby red cherries, hint of cedar or perhaps aged oak, that vanilla touch with tones of berry and ripened plums and peppery notes all well balanced but not over the top with its 14% Alc. Certainly more Cabernet than Shiraz but that is how I like my Red Blends and with the Merlot and Petit Verdot backing up the feature of the score. My 'Wine Buff" neighbour and I both agree on this wine as top scorer in the game as it has been consistantly satisfying over the past three years (2007-2008-2009) and it proudly carries the 'Brokenwood' label.
